Cat Rambo.
Best moniker ever. I tried giving myself a cool nickname some time ago, but I only came up with “Hoagie Torres.” Not sure what happened there.
Cat Rambo has been guest blogging over at Jeff Vandermeer’s blog, and her post today touches on writing process, a topic that resurfaces again and again on this pamphlet.
“What you need to do is experiment and find what gets you writing, and keeps you writing.”
You said it, sista.
What are some of the ways in which you make yourself write, Gentle Reader? Form doesn’t matter. It could be poetry, non-fiction, grocery lists. I alternate between Scrivener, Google Docs, plain notebooks, and the occasional index card. How do you get it done? Leave a comment below. Hoagie will join in on the discussion, as well.

I'm the author of "The 12 Burning Wheels," a short story collection of weird tales of future dystopias, hybrid monsters and machine lore.
Ooh, lots of different things. Perfectionism and an obsession with time management leads me to make lists, all kinds of to-do lists everywhere. Also the satisfaction I get from getting those things done. My love of efficiency in all things, from art to errands. I guess it’s my German/Dutch blood.
As for my blog – I set an initial goal of 5 posts per week, but quality holds me back on those. Mostly it’s the knowledge that people are reading it, and I am so eager to please. I am so happy that people read it – I want to deliver. It’s like having the best kind of boss, one you really love and will work yourself silly trying to impress. And the knowledge that people stumble across my blog every day, and that if I just write well enough, I can hook in another reader. The sky is the limit with blogs. Dooce is the limit. There’s nothing to stop me from being another dooce. That inspires me and drives me.
As far as other kinds of writing? Sheesh. When I figure that out, I’ll let you know, Hoagie.
